Private John Harris

The background of this North Irish Horseman is not known at present, other than that he was born around 1895.

John Harris enlisted in the North Irish Horse on 7 or 8 April 1913 (No.830 – later Corps of Hussars No.71122). He embarked for France with C Squadron on 20 August 1914, seeing action on the retreat from Mons and advance to the Aisne.

Harris remained with the regiment throughout the war. On 28 February 1919 he was demobilised and transferred to Class Z, Army Reserve.
